Retro Video Games are Making a Comeback This Weekend

Shoutout to the 90s kids (or even some of you kids from today’s generation that somehow got roped into things your elder siblings or cousins used to do), do you miss the video games we used to play during our childhood? We’re talking old school Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong and Mario Kart 64 here. If a part of you is tired of the Candy Crush, Farmville and Angry Birds sagas of today and misses the awkward 2D pixelated cartoon characters you used to love controlling, you’re in for a treat this weekend!
 
Kyo’s Game Mart and Zendersons Store will be organising Malaysia Ninty Gathering 2016, the first ever retro video games event in Malaysia! This fan-powered event will celebrate video games launched over the years from back when we were still kids, especially games released specifically for Nintendo home-based and handheld consoles.
 
You get to play with these consoles at the event. Do you still remember any of these? Better yet, do you still OWN any of these: Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition, Family Computer Mini. If you do, this is your chance to lay your hands on them once again!
 
In fact, if you'd love to own a classic console again, Zendersons Store will be bringing their range of retro video game consoles that are not just fixed to Nintendo consoles, including classics like the Atari consoles and Sega consoles. Come and revive your video game collection!
 
You can also  bring along your Gameboy or Nintendo 3DS console to play at the designated play area. Some of the retro games you will get to play include Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros Melee, Wii Sports, and Super Smash Bros WiiU. The company will also be releasing the Pokémon Sun and Moon video games today, which can be purchased at the event this weekend. You can even test out the game right away at the designated area!
 
If you’re feeling a bit competitive, there will be tournaments held on the day for you to stand a chance to win Nintendo consoles! Join the Donkey Kong Highest Score Tournament, Mario Kart Wii Fastest Lap Race or Mario Bros Highest Score Tournament. Or if you feel like dressing up, participate in the video game themed cosplay competition and dress up as your favourite video game characters!
