6 Super Yummy Ramadan Bazaar Food You Die-Die Must Try!

The holy month of Ramadan is here, and you know what that means?

Ramadan bazaars are now in full operation, and once again, we'll find Malaysians from all walks of life flocking to the one nearest to them in search for the yummiest street food.

But the thing about being in Malaysia is, there are so many Ramadan bazaars and so many varieties of food, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the choices you have.

Worry not, kawan-kawan! Here are some unique, super yummy Ramadan bazaar food that we at Rojak Daily think you should try before they close shop for the year:

MacGyver to the rescue.
Now, we don't know why they call it Roti Goreng McGyver, but yes, it is named after the iconic TV character. This dish is a specialty at the Kampung Baru bazaar. The bun is stuffed to the brim with meat, wrapped in a layer of popiah skin and then deep fried. From chicken or beef curry to sardine sambal, there's a wide variety of fillings you can choose from.

The best crossover ever.This is one all Maggi lovers (us included) would definitely go crazy for. It's just like your usual murtabak, but instead of chicken, mutton or beef filling, the murtabak is filled with Maggi mee. There are tonnes of bazaars selling their own version of the Murtabak Maggi, but the one you should check is located at the Meru Ramadan bazaar, because it's pretty famous.

Sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
If you have a terrible sweet tooth (don't worry, we have it too), kuih lopes needs to be on your must-eat list. Just like the classic onde-onde, the kuih lopes is made with pandan and glutinous rice, showered with coconut shavings and finally, drowned in thick gula Melaka sauce. You can find the kuih lopes at the bazaar located in the Shah Alam stadium. BRB, we're in a diabetic coma.

A different kind of fish.
If you're sick of the usual ikan bakar, you have to give the ikan patin masak tempoyak a try. Located within the Kelana Jaya Ramadan bazaar, you'll usually find a long queue in front of this stall. A patin fish is slathered with a generous amount of tempoyak (which is actually fermented durian condiment) before being grilled to absolute perfection. Perfect for those of you who loves fish.

You need to be early, though.
Yup, it's exactly what it sounds like. The sticky glutinous rice of the pulut udang is paired with sweet and spicy sambal prawn, and it tastes like heaven! This pulut udang store is located at the TTDI Ramadan bazaar, but be warned: they sell out quite fast, so be there early or be square.

Everybody loves cake.
The kek batik is a cake unlike anything you've ever seen. That's because unlike your usual cakes, kek batik is made using Marie biscuits that are broken in half and mixed with condensed milk and copius amount of chocolate spread. You can also ask for an Oreo topping if you like your dessert super sweet. You can find the kek batik at the Shah Alam Ramadan bazaar.
