PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will not shut its doors on Barisan Nasional (BN) members who want to switch their allegiance to the coalition.

But Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the ruling coalition would only welcome those who are “free from any charges”.

“If they want to join any party or become independents, but support PH, we will support them. But we will study every case individually, on their involvement in the previous government,” he said at a press conference.

The PH chairman was responding to critics who questioned the coalition for accepting defectors from BN, the former ruling coalition it once accused of massive corruption.

When asked if defectors from BN would be given ministerial posts, Mahathir said: “There are lots of possibilities”.
