Liow Soon Hee says he is willing to apologise to the three victims.
SERDANG: The 29-year-old Datuk Seri who was charged with assaulting three People’s Volunteer Corp (Rela) members in Ampang last month says he regrets his action.
Liow Soon Hee, a businessman, also apologised to the Rela members over his aggressive action against them.
“I want to be part of society and I regret my actions.
“I am willing to extend my apology to the victims affected by the incident,” he told theSun when met at the Selangor Community policing headquarters here today.
On Nov 3, Liow was charged at the Ampang Sessions Court over his alleged assault of the three Rela personnel outside a Chinese temple on Oct 27.
After paying bail, he was rearrested outside the courthouse by police over a 2014 drug-related offence. He was subsequently charged in two separate courts.
The first charge was for consuming two types of drugs, namely amphetamine and methamphetamine, on Oct 30 at Ampang police district headquarters.
He was also accused of testing positive for methamphetamine at the Dang Wangi police district headquarters on Feb 11, 2014.
Liow pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
When asked by theSun today about the possibility of being stripped of his title, Liow said: “I will leave it to the relevant authorities to decide on that matter.”
Earlier, Liow, contributed RM210,000 to support two university students, Selangor community policing and to build a basketball court in an independent Chinese school in Puchong.
He handed over the cheque to Community Policing Malaysia founder and chief executive officer Kuan Chee Heng.
